Almost all dental implants used today are root-form endosseous (in bone) implants, which support restorations to replace missing teeth. Similar to an actual tooth root, these dental implants are placed within the jaw, integrating the titanium post into the bone.
Having a dental implant rooted into the bone helps give a natural look and feel to the replacement teeth.
